Wii points? I heard that you could get wii points and download game demos. We dont have the internet on our wii, but if we plug it to the computer, would it work?
I also heard that we could get wii points somehow with other nitendo games (gamecube, sega).
If you have any info, please help. superdork replied: "To get internet connection for your Wii using your computer, you need to get the USB Wi-Fi adapter.
As far as I know, the only way to get Wii points is to either buy them or have someone give it to you."
ericyo replied: "yea u need some form of internet connection... sometimes people that live around you might have a wireless connection... but if you dont have interent theres no way of actually downloading, but we points are purchased with a credit or debit card with the wii or you can go to a local retailer and purchase them. visit tne nintendo wii website for more info."
It's-a-me, MyQ-e-o! replied: "Wii Points are used to buy new Wii channels & Virtual Console games. You can buy these Wii points at retail stores in the form of a gift card or the easier way is to just pay for them through the Wii Shopping Channel with your credit card.
Virtual Console games are old classics that can be purchased & stored on the Wii's internal memory. Current systems supported are NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, Turbo Graphix 16, & Neo Geo.
The Wii can also play GameCube discs.
To have internet on your Wii, you have to connect your internet to the Wii. The Wii has Wi-Fi built into it, but if you have a wired connection (LAN) you will need a LAN adapter which can be purchased through Nintendo."

They are used to purchase items in the Wii Shop Channel such as Virtual Console games, which are old, retro games that were available on classic systems such as the NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, etc... These Virtual Console games or "VC" games can be played with the Wii Remote, but some require Nintendo Gamecube, or the Wii Classic Controller to be played. For example, some of these games include the first Super Mario, the first Sonic, Zelda, etc. Wii Points (or Nintendo Points) can also be used to purchase WiiWare games, which are Wii exclusive games that can be played with the Wii Remote with your motion, IR, etc.
Wii Points or Nintendo Points can be purchased via credit or debit card through the Wii Shop Channel or can be purchased at local retailers such as Walmart, Target, Gamestop, etc... Which are gift cards that can be redeemed through the Wii Shop Channel."
